accused of making a homemade bomb is
now facing a charge in federal court.

VO-NAT Mark David Uhl was arraigned this
afternoon in Roanoke on a charge of
possessing an unlawful destructive
device.
An affidavit says a deputy opened
the trunk of Uhl's car, smelled gas and
saw a cookie tin with five red
cylindrical objects. They appeared to
have fuses.
Agents of the Virginia State
Police described the items as a home
made napalm device.
Uhl told investigators he was
going to set the devices off in a
field, and did not want to hurt anyone.

death of a Campbell County sheriff's
deputy last month had allegedly been
smoking crack cocaine before she ran
from police.

than 30 miles trying to run from
deputies.
Timothy Nichols, a passenger
in her car, testified today that he
tried to get Bush to pull over.
He said she was driving,
quote- -"wide open, as fast as the van
would go."

April 3 Nichols estimated that to be
100 miles an hour adding she had no
intention of getting arrested.
The two had been boyfriend
and girlfriend but Nichols said that
ended after the incident that claimed
the life of deputy Jason Saunders.
In a tape recorded phone call
full of profanity, Bush told Nichols
from jail, quote-- "it wasn't my fault
that he wrecked.

one today - after he was killed in a
car accident in Rocky Mount.

The group was riding along this
stretch on Grassy Hill Road Tuesday
afternoon.
They admit to traveling well over
the speed limit -maybe even 70 miles
per hour.
The driver of the car, sideswiped
a vehicle and eventually flipped into
these trees.
When it was all said and done,
16-year-old Bryan White Jr. - another
passenger in the car was killed.

injuries.
There's no word on his condition,
but the Commonwealth's Attorney's
office says he could be facing charges

year, resulting in more than eight
thousand deaths.

It's called the Intersection
Collision Avoidance system and we were
allowed to see how it works.
Essentially, it's a device placed

supercell thunderstorm with a wall
cloud. The storm produced severe
thunderstorm warnings as it moved
through the state, and there were
several reports of funnel clouds. The
students chased the storm for 6 hours.

severe weather and then attempt to
intercept those storms which do

17 year old male with robbery and
assault at Patrick Henry High School.
According to a news release, the
school's resource officer was called to
a bathroom on campus around 8-15 Monday
morning and found a 16 year old male
victim inside.
The suspect was arrested today.

false pretense and soliciting without a

around the Dillon Woods neighborhood of
Vinton telling residents they could

One man bought into the deal, but
once the group was finished they
demanded 800-dollars instead.

parents at a Roanoke County school were
notified yesterday that one of the
students has a staph infection known as
mersa.
The infection showed up on the
student's skin.
The director of the Community
School says the student is getting
treatment at this time and will not
return to class until at least May
29th.
In the meantime, the school has
disinfected the building and the
playground as a precaution.
Mersa is a common type of
bacteria that is spread by close
contact with the infected person or the
things they touch.
Symptoms of this staph infection
can include redness, warmth, puss or a
wound that doesn't heal.
