A student there contracted the
infection known as Mersa.

It showed up on the student's

The school's director says the
student is getting treatment, and will
not return to class until at least next
week.

In the meantime, the school has
disinfected the building and the
playground as a precaution.

Mersa is a common type of
bacteria that is spread by close
contact with the infected person or the
things they touch.

Symptoms of this staph infection
can include redness, warmth, pus or a
wound that doesn't heal.
