afternoon.
The plea agreement was posted on the
court's public website this morning,
spelling out details of the deal
Cassell's lawyers made with the U-S
Attorney's office.

plea agreement and has details.
It's an 11-page document. Cassell has
struck a deal with federal prosecutors,
rather than face a trial by jury.

INQ= Cassell faces a five-year prison term,
plus a quarter million dollar fine,
though sentencing guidelines will call
for a narrow range of punishment-
-something considerably less than five
years.
Of course, the Government will argue
that Cassell should get more time and
his lawyers will ask for less.
Cassell was indicted last Fall, along
with 19 others accused of raiding the
evidence room and going into the drug
trade themselves
No one ever claimed the Sheriff was out
on the street re-selling drugs and
other contraband.
But the government insists he knew
about it and did his best to keep a lid
on it.

COVERED UP THESE ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES BY
BY NOT PURSUING INVESTIGATIONS ANDS BY

police.

Timothy Nichols, a passenger
in her car, testified yesterday that he
tried to get Bush to pull over.
He said she was driving,

April 3 an hour. "They were not going to put
handcuffs on her," Nichols told the
court.
The two had been boyfriend
and girlfriend Nichols said, but that

Nichols from jail, quote-- "it wasn't

have sent thousands of pounds of nuts
to CBS' Manhattan offices.
The idea started from the show's final
episode, when a character was asked to
surrender, he refused by saying "NUTS."
The grassroots campaign has reportedly

of nuts.
And there are signs the campaign has
gotten attention.
The president of CBS Entertainment says
the network is working on some way to
bring closure to the series' cliff

85-hundred deaths.

Researchers here at the Smart Road
gave us a demonstration.
Notice how the car coming towards
us stops before hitting the vehicle
going through the intersection.
Essentially, there are sensors
embedded in the front of the car that
talks to other vehicles and the traffic
signal.

It's mainly a loud noise similar to
an alarm clock and it's planted right

Researchers have been studying and
testing the device for more than three
years now and they say it's only a
