having a chance to compete in both the
Big East and the ACC.

She will teach health and phys ed
at Byrd, as well. Recchia has both a

GRAPHIC=INDY 500 The Memorial Day weekend is

sacred stock car ground for most folks
- but this weekend also marks the 91st
running of the Indianapolis 500.

And for the first time in those
91 years - three women will be in the
starting grid.

The most well known is Danica
Patrick - who burst onto the Indy scene
in 2005 when she became the first woman
to lead the 500. She finished fourth
in her rookie year and is now no longer
content just to race - she wants to
win.

Sarah Fisher is 26 years old - a
racing veteran who is getting married
in September. She is back at the
Brickyard after failing to make the
race each of the past two years.

And then there's newcomer, Milka
Duno. The Caracas, Venezuela native is

a 35 year old rookie. Her experience
is mainly in sports cars and her only
other Indy car race was last month at
Kansas City. But she's also a Naval
engineer with four masters degrees.
