A different kind of accident injured
six people on a water ride at Disney's
Animal Kingdom in Florida...
Rafts on the Kali River Rapids
were stopped for some reason, a
platform was lowered and apparently
malfunctioned. None of the injuries are
believed to be serious.
Crews are investigating what went
wrong...

Knights vs Terriers Now here is a conflicted fan,
Current Byrd Assistant Principal and
future Cave Principal Steve Spangler
checking this one out.
The Knights bats would be hot
from the start. Daniel Downing with
the line shot to right field that will
score Michael Kluge for Cave Spring and
they were up 4 to nothing in the Second
inning.
They would add to the lead.
Kevin Munson with the grounder to
shortstop that gets by the fielder
Blake Kleiber will score another run
for the Homestanding Knights.
*CG final William Byrd Cave had the Pitching going as
1 well. Munson started and at one point
Cave Spring in the game he struck out 5 straight
10 Byrd Batters. Knights move on with the
10 to 1 win over William Byrd.

Titans vs Cavaliers as Lord Botetourt traveled to
South County to take on Hidden Valley
at the Titans' home Field.
Hidden Valley had a 2 to nothing
lead in the Top of the 5th. Botetourt
had a runner on third when Titans'
Pitcher Ryan Larson makes the nice snag
on the comebacker to keep the run from
scoring.
The Titans would add to their
lead in the Bottom of the 6th. Eric
Vess with the hit to left field. Pinch
runner Josh Kite comes into score and
Hidden Valley leads 7 to 4.
*CG final Lord Botetourt Cavaliers starter Turner Phelps
4 got hit literally and figuratively.
Hidden Valley Joe Greenway drills Phelps - the ball
8 ricochets away allowing another run to
score. Hidden Valley moves on with the
8 to 4 win. Phelps did stay in the

Parry McCluer vs. Glenvar The Highlanders used perfect
:00 execution off of the throw-in as
Glenvar gets it right back to open
player in the corner who assists with
the perfect pass to Kelsey Walters.
She is headed to Ferrum next year.
It's 1-to-nothing Glenvar.
The Highlanders just outworked
the blues on this play as Lindsey
Hunter slices her way through the Parry
McCluer defense and rips one right the
right foot to make it 2-to-nothing.
Parry McCluer got one of those
back as Logan Hand beats four
Highlanders with this shot to cut the
lead to 2-to-1. But that was it for
the Blues.
*CG final Parry McCluer
1 Walters from the left side hits
Glenvar one a mile high that somehow drops
6 behind the goalie right into the net.
Glenvar advances to the next round in
Region C with the 6 to 1 win.

Take a look at what was going on in
Knoxville Tennessee last night -- a
black bear was spotted running around
the downtown area.
Wildlife officials needed several hours
and two different tranquilizers to
capture the bear, believed to be a
three-year-old male.
Such sightings are more likely in
populated areas this time of year as
bears move closer to cities in search
of food.
