In Roanoke, one of those places is
Colonial Avenue near Wonju Street.

Towers Shopping Center on any given
day.

It is SO congested that back in
October 2005, the state announced it
would make some changes to ease the
pain.

But here it is a year and half later,

For starters, there are too many
vehicles trying to get through the
intersection of Colonial and Wonju
Street.

Adding to the problem are drivers
turning left to and from Colonial onto
23rd Street.

But the worst is traffic coming off
220 south onto Colonial Avenue.

Many vehicles end up getting stuck in
the intersection.

Avenue, adjusting the traffic signals
in the area, widening Colonial Avenue
to add another lane, as well as put in
an additional left turning lane on the
220 south off ramp.

Finally, you will no longer be able
to make a lefthand turn at Colonial and
23rd Street.

according to witnesses.... but the
Henry County Sheriff's office is
investigating a shooting that happened
in the Bassett area this morning.

A 19 year old man suffered a
gunshot wound to the head.

He was flown to Roanoke for

The red pickup truck turned up
today in a Food Lion parking lot in

relief at the gas pump since the prices
have increased- today they got some.

their tank as early as seven this
morning along route 24 near Vinton.
More than a hundred cars lined up to
receive forty dollars of free gas.

The publisher of the Roanoke
Verizon Yellow Pages sponsored the
promotion. Starting at 11 they gave
away two hundred pre-paid gas cards.
The giveaway was supposed to last until

one, but the free gas didn't last that

elimination contest as perennial
powerhouse Blacksburg locked up with
Jefferson Forest.

get their semifinal in though before
the storms came.

wood for the Titans. Here he smokes a
