GRAPHIC=CRIME There's still no sign of the
suspect accused of two shootings in
Rockbridge County, even though the
truck he stole has been found.
The red pickup truck turned up
yesterday in a Food Lion parking lot in
West Point-- that's east of Richmond.

loose -- Kevin Howard- is from
Toe-ann-oh- not too far from where the
truck was found.
Rockbridge County's Sheriff tells
News 7 that search dogs were being used
to try to pick up a scent from the
truck and track down Howard.

shootings in the Arnolds Valley area of

home and then a camper was shot in the

congested intersections is taking
longer than expected.

We're talking about Colonial
Avenue in front of Towers Shopping
Mall.
During rush hour, traffic backs
up coming off Route 220 South onto
Colonial Avenue, so much so many
vehicles end up blocking the
intersection.
Then you have drivers turning
left to and from Colonial onto 23rd
Street.
It all adds up to a big traffic
nightmare.
V-Dot plans to make a number of
improvements to the area but the work
was supposed to begin months ago.
The state now says construction won't
get underway until the end of the year.

Tech permission to hire a third,
full-time attorney.

may get a new source of advertising
revenue-- but not everyone is saying

In Virginia, college newspapers
have been banned from printing ads for
beer, wine or liquor since Prohibition.
But last June Virginia Tech's
Collegiate Times and U-V-A's Cavalier
Daily sued the A-B-C arguing the rule
is unconstitutional.
The paper's argue it violates
their freedom of speech and puts them
at a competitive disadvantage since
non- college papers CAN print ads for
alcohol.
The state argues it's a public
safety issue.
A federal judge heard arguments
yesterday.
She'll now decide if she can make
a ruling or if there needs to be a
trial.

on the lookout for three armed men who
robbed a convenience store just outside
Lynchburg.

The sheriff's office says the
three men walked into the Quickee Food
Store in Forest Wednesday night, pulled
out handguns, and ordered clerks to
hand over the money.
A customer was ordered to lay on
the floor.
The robbers took his wallet and car
keys.
Investigators say all three men
are African American..they are
processing surveillance photos and will
release them as soon as possible.
