killed late Saturday when her car ran
off Route 24, down an embankment and
into some brush.

35-year-old Teresa Combs of Lynch
Station was pronounced dead at the
scene.

The accident occurred west of
State Route 749 shortly before 10:00
p.m.

Police say Combs was wearing her

accident brought traffic to a
standstill near Salem and Dixie
Caverns.

Michelle Blankenship-Taylor of Roanoke
lost control of her car and flipped it
when another vehicle crossed into her
lane.

Taylor was trapped inside her car
for several minutes until the fire
department could free her.

As a precaution, she was taken to
the hospital with what appeared to be
non-life threatening injuries.

20-year old was shot to death just
after midnight.

Police responded to reports of
shots fired in the 22-hundred block of
North Main Street at around 12:30.

When they arrived they found
Joshua Franklin Dewberry dead inside a
van parked near the Sunrise Convenience
store.

An investigation for the shooter
is underway.

critical condition this evening after a
car plowed into a street festival in
Southeast Washington, DC last night.

including two police officers.

Authorities say the woman behind
the wheel of the gray station wagon was
being chased by police when she ran
into the crowd..

They believe she was going at
least 70 miles per hour when she ripped
through the fair.

A spokesman says she never even
bothered to stop but was later caught
about a block away.

least four people are dead after an
S-U-V ran off the interstate Saturday
afternoon.

State Troopers say the driver
along with her mother, daughter, sister
in law and niece were in the vehicle.

Four died on the scene - a six
year old survivor was rushed to a
nearby hospital.

Police say speed was likely a
factor.

predraft camp in Orlando, Stephen
Curry, the son of former Hokie Dell
Curry, could follow in their footsteps
in a few short years. Curry won't have
a lot of time to enjoy his summer off
of the hardwood. He has been invited
to compete for a spot on the USA

National Team for players 19 and under.

Mike Stevens recently talked with
the second generation sharpshooter
about his rapid rise in the college
basketball world.

NCAA freshman 122 three-pointers.

Stephen scored in double figures in 33
games, broke five Davidson school
records and hit 41 percent of his three
pointers. Like his Dad did at Tech he
had the green light to shoot whenever
he had the ball. Stephen life long
dream was to follow in his dad's
footsteps to Virginia Tech, but both
father and son say they're over that
now.

Stephen will battle 34 other players at
a tryout camp in Dallas later this

Cavs knocked the Pistons out of the NBA
playoffs with a 98 to 82 win in Game 6
of the Eastern Conference Finals.

James tallied 20 points but his
running mate Daniel Gibson threw in 31
of his own. The Cavs will now get Tim
Duncan and the Spurs in the NBA Finals
which open Thursday night in San
Antonio.
