GRAPHIC=Robbery Police are investigating a
robbery in Danville last night.
It happened at around 10:30 at
Junior's Convenience Mart.
An employee says that a black
male with a white bandana over his face
came into the store, displayed a knife,
and demanded money.
The suspect got away with an
undisclosed amount of cash and was last
seen driving towards North Carolina on
route 29.
The employee was not injured.

killed late Saturday when her car ran
off Route 24.

State Police say the victim,
35-year-old Teresa Combs of Lynch
Station was pronounced dead at the
scene.
The accident occurred west of
State Route 749 shortly before 10:00
p.m.
Police say Combs was wearing her

yesterday morning when a Roanoke woman
flipped her car near Dixie Caverns.

Police say 47-year-old Michelle
Blankenship-Taylor lost control of her
car yesterday morning, and flipped it
when another vehicle crossed into her
lane.
Taylor was trapped inside her car
for several minutes until the fire
department could free her.
As a precaution, she was taken to
the hospital with what appeared to be
non-life threatening injuries.

A new 200-thousand-dollar
initiative of the Virginia Department
of Health is hoping to increase the
number of nursing-school instructors by
providing financial support for
master's and doctoral nursing students.
Each candidate could get up to
20-thousand dollars a year for up to
two years while completing graduate
work.
Priority will be given to
master's degree candidates who will
teach in community colleges as a
condition of accepting the scholarship
money.
