teenagers are looking for something to
do and many will head out to Valley
View Mall in Roanoke.

That sometimes leads to problems
like the recent stabbing at the mall.

So what are mall officials doing
about it?

Natasha, News 7 found out the
mall will sit down with city leaders
next week.

In addition to the stabbing, there have
been several large fights near the mall
in the last year or so.

Some vendors have also complained
about teens causing trouble inside
Valley View on weekends.

recently shot at the mall on a Friday
night.

Although we saw plenty of teens
inside the mall, we didn't find anyone
doing anything wrong.

However, a vendor recently
contacted News 7 and claimed some teens
have been known to spit and throw
things from railings as well as engage
in sexual behavior at the mall.

Again, we want to stress we
didn't see any of that when this video
was shot and we witnessed plenty of
police officers and security guards
walking around the property.

Mall offcials confirmed the
meeting will take place next week but
characterized it as an informal meeting
with the city of Roanoke.

We're told it will address issues
involving teens but what exactly that
will entail remains unclear at this
point.

killing her preacher husband has likely
finished her time behind bars.

Back in April she was convicted
of manslaughter and could have received
up to six years in prison...but today
was sentenced to three.

The judge gave her credit for the
five months she's already served...plus
the option to serve out her remaining

time in a mental health
facility....which would be 60 days.

At today's sentencing, Winkler
got the chance to speak to her
husband's family.

She told them she prays for them
to find peace.

Her three daughters are now in
the custody of her husband's parents.

spend the next two months in jail.

those who helped take a Pebble Creek
resident to the hospital.

January When Kimberly Golightly returned to her
apartment, she discovered someone had
taken her lap top, some D-V-D's and a
rifle.

The judge heard sufficient evidence
today to convict Newman of breaking and
entering and grand larceny, but

deferred a finding of guilt.

council member this morning to a
motorcycle crash.

Ashworth died after being airlifted to
Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

His motorcycle collided with a
sedan around 9 this morning at the
intersection of Depot and East Main

Confederacy are looking to rebuild a
piece of their history,

The statue used to stand 23 feet
tall and was a tribute to the
confederate soldiers from Franklin
County.

Last night, police say 53
year-old John Ozmore Junior ran off the
road, struck the monument and then
landed on the courthouse steps.

The monument was nearly 100
years-old and the Jubal A. Early

Chapter of the Daughters of the
Confederacy played a major role in it
being built.

Now, they want it returned to its
original state.

sprouting in eastern Roanoke County,
and it will include Kroger's largest
store in the valley.

shopping center will cover more than

medical problem....but a California
judge isn't buying it....today he sent
her back to jail.
