Newman will spend the next nine weeks
in the county jail for stealing things
from a woman he took to the hospital.

Kimberly Golightly returned to
her apartment at Pebble Creek the next
day to discover her laptop computer
missing, along with some D-V-D's and
her boyfriend's rifle.

Newman confessed almost
immediately and returned the items he
took.

morning, but agreed to defer convicting
him for a year.

If he stays out of trouble, he'll

physician's assistant.

pick-up truck heavily damaged the
Confederate monument.

was driving South on Main Street, when

One airline expert says travelers are
trading security for convenience.

at Smith Mountain Lake, it's one many
peopel probably assumed had already
been solved.

In fact, a safety task force

Deputies picked up celebrity heiress
Paris Hilton.

A judge in Los Angeles is ordering that
Paris Hilton be brought to court for a
hearing on her early release from jail.

Moments Ago Earlier, there was an announcement
that Hilton would be allowed to
dial-into the hearing from home. She's
been there since her release from
prison early yesterday, after serving
just three days

of her sentence.

Sheriff's officials said she'd be
allowed home confinement instead of
spedning her time behind

bars.

A court spokesman says the judge has
told the sheriff's department to go to
Hilton's home, pick her up, and bring
her in for the hearing at which time
she could be sent back to jail.

field at Covington after 36 seasons.

fiction...but scientists in Japan have
developed a humanoid that acts like a
toddler in an effort to better
understand child development.

move just like a real child between the
ages of one and three.

Named CB- 2, the robot is 4 feet
3 inches tall and weighs 73 pounds,
much larger of course, than a real

muscle.

It has sensors that allow it to
touch, small cameras that works as
eyes, and an artificial vocal cord.
