The wall came tumbling down when
a driver ran off the road and crashed
head on - all of this on the corner of
Franklin Road and Walnut Avenue.
Police say the passenger - a
female died in the accident.
The driver was rushed to Roanoke
Memorial - no word on how he's doing.
Police are not releasing either
name at this time.
From what we understand the wall
is not apart of any particular building
although it's located near several
business offices.

The gap is only 4 by 6 inches, but its

WHEN WE TALKED TO THE ENGINEERING GUYS
IN THE STRUCTURAL TEAM, THEY WERE A
LITTLE BIT UNCOMFORTABLE TODAY THIS IS
A DIFFICULT CONDITION TO ASSESS, AND
THE REASON IT'S DIFFICULT BECAUSE THE
BLANKET IS STICKING UP.
NASA engineers fear the blanket could
trap additional heat and allow it To
build up inside the cavity. Overheated
tile gaps on the space Shuttle columbia
caused it to disinigrate upon re-entry
in 2003. NASA Crews got a closer look
at atlantis gap when the shuttle
performed a Space summersault. They're
now working to decide if the blanket
needs Fixing and then how spacewalking
astronauts might do it.
(John Shannon/NASA/Mission Management
Team Chair)
THE SIMPLEST WOULD BE TO TUCK THAT
BLANKET BACK DOWN AND FILL CAVITY UP.
Mission managers were relieved to find
little else in the photos of the

part of the day was the near perfect
rendezvous with the international space

TNT Today's Pocono 500 was delayed
:00 nearly 3 and a half hours by the wet
stuff, but eventually did take the
green flag.
Jimmie Johnson wished it hadn't
even started. Johnson cut a tire all
the way to the rim and retired early to
the garage.
His Hendrick teammate had no
such trouble though. Jeff Gordon had a
spirited battle with Ryan Newman and
Denny Hamlin. Gordon was out front
when the rains returned just past the
halfway point at lap 107. The race was
called and Gordon declared the winner,
his 4th victory of the season.

:00 The course was in pristine
condition for round 3.
Youngster Meredith Swanson was
gunning for her third title in 4 years.
She started the day with a two shot
lead and tried to hang on. But Vicki
Kasza rallied to tie Swanson for the
lead after 54 holes at 153.
Dot Bolling, the queen of
Roanoke Valley golf did the same,
making a par right here at the 16th
hole.
Those 3 went to a sudden death
playoff where Kasza dropped out after
the third hole, and Swanson won with a
par on the 6th hole defeating Bolling
for the title.

It's called the "Great Gorilla
Run" and it covers 4.3 miles for a good
cause.
Runners pay $100 and get a
gorilla suit that they can keep.
The money goes toward helping
save the world's mountain gorillas.
Experts say there are currently
fewer than 700 of them left in the
world.
San Francisco is the first U.S.
city to host a Great Gorilla Run.
