TNT Yesterday's Pocono 500 was delayed :00 nearly 3 and a half hours by the wet
stuff, but eventually did take the
green flag.

Jimmie Johnson wished it hadn't
even started.

Johnson cut a tire all the way to
the rim and retired early to the
garage.

His Hendrick teammate had no
such trouble, though.

Jeff Gordon had a spirited battle
with Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin.
Gordon was out front when the rains
returned just past the halfway point at
lap 107.

The race was called and Gordon was
declared the winner, his 4th victory of
the season.

:00 The course was in pristine
condition for round 3.

Youngster Meredith Swanson was
gunning for her third title in 4 years.

She started the day with a two shot
lead and tried to hang on.

But Vicki Kasza rallied to tie
Swanson for the lead after 54 holes at
153.

Dot Bolling, the queen of
Roanoke Valley golf did the same,
making a par at the 16th hole.

Those 3 went to a sudden death
playoff, where Kasza dropped out after
the third hole.

Swanson won with a par on the 6th
hole, defeating Bolling for the title.
