question in Rocky Mount nearly a week
after a drunk driving suspect plowed
into a historic monument.

that Walmart intends to open up shop in
Blacksburg -- despite mounting
opposition.

A Walmart spokesperson confirmed
today that the company is considering a
site in Blacksburg, but would not say
where.

The second big indicator came
from a town planner.

chief.

The town hired Stephen W. Price

this week.

Price is a graduate of Chilhowie

He's worked at police departments

years.

He was pinched during a high
school scavenger hunt fifteen years

attempt was unsuccessful.

When VanDerVeer came to work on
Monday morning, he noticed Muffler Man
was missing once again.

of a woman killed in an accident
Saturday night.

Officers say 52-year-old Ann L. C.
Jordan of Roanoke died after the car
she was riding in hit a wall on
Franklin Road.

midnight Saturday.

Investigators believe 25-year-old
Joshua A. Humphries of Roanoke was
driving south on Franklin Road, when he
hit a rock and concrete wall near the
intersection with Walnut Avenue.

Jordan was not wearing a seat belt
and died at the scene.

Humphries was wearing a seat belt and
was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial

Hospital, where at last check he was
listed in serious condition.

No charges have been filed.

of the new building but the handmade
wooden kitchen table.. they made

hearing about the Roy Stanley Memorial
auction that takes place this Thursday
night. All proceeds from the auction
will go to the Scholarship fund that
was started in honor of Roy after the
30 year WDBJ veteran sportscaster died
in April of 2002.

(END SOT) June Mini-Camp in a week and all

indications are that Michael Vick will
be in uniform and not in jail.

This house that Vick owned and
recently sold has been under
investigation for over a month by both
local and federal authorities, but to
date no charges have been filed

Vick's former head coach Frank
Beamer recently told us that he
believes Vick has once again let
friends and family members take
advantage of his fame and fortune.

More than a dozen federal
vehicles were on the Vick property last
week something that even the Surry
County prosecutor questioned wondering
if the Feds motive was Vick's celebrity
or even one of race. State police
assisted investigators from the U.S.
Department of Agriculture and the U.S.
Attorney's office in executing the
warrant last Thursday.

All the while - Vick's extended
family continues to stand by his side.
