Four years ago, the government
decided to do something about it by
establishing the national do not call
registry.

It banned telemarketers from
making unsolicited calls to people who
voluntarily put their names on the
list.
To date, more than 132 million
telephone numbers have been registered
on the National Do Not Call Registry.

desk.
The report doesn't
investigate the specifics of the
attack, instead it summarizes more
general concerns voiced by state and
local leaders around the country.
