Commission ordered Appalachian Power to
refund customers who were being billed

John Shepelwich of Appalachian Power
says numerous people have been calling
in- thinking the credit on their bill
is the one promised by the SCC- he says
this is NOT that credit.



In fact, Shepelwich says less than half
of the company's customers were
affected.

Because of a computer and programming
glitch APCO had to re-calculate
two-months of the billing cycle.
Customers were credited the two-months
in question and then re-billed.

Ironically, police say she was
hit by a drunk driver on a night she,

broke a light pole and plowed into
McDaniel and seven other people.

renovations.

Security guards were posted at
the entrances and access is limited to
daytime hours.

The classrooms on the second

Tech officials decided to reopen
the building because of sophisticated
laboratory equipment that could not be

agreed to meet with Governor Tim Kaine
on Saturday. They'll discuss their
concerns about the investigation into
the killings.

Kaine said last week that he
would set up the meeting, after some
family members had angrily demanded
representation on the panel overseeing
the investigation.

An attorney for the families
says they are gratified by what he
calls "increased sensitivity" by the
governor.

field trip to Europe have been sent
home early.

During a routine bed check in
France last week, a chaperone
discovered that one of the students had
some marijuana. Two others in the room
were considered to be "in the presence"
of pot. The next morning all three
were on their way home at their
parents' expense.

Though it was technically not a
North Cross field trip, Headmaster Paul
Stellato says the 18 students on the
trip had agreed to abide by the same
code of conduct, as if they were in
school at North Cross.

N-B-A Draft must remove their name from

consideration.

Sean Singletary put his name in
the ring to become a pro, but has
decided that a Senior year in
Charlottesville is better than the
unknown of Pro Ball.

VO-NAT Singletary is returning to the


Cavaliers after averaging 19 points per
game as a Junior, a season in which he
earned first team All-ACC honors and
helped lead the Wahoos to a tie for
First Place in the Conference's Regular
Season as well as leading Virginia back
to the N-C-A-A Tournament.

Singletary went through the
entire pre-draft process including
individual workouts for several N-B-A
Teams. It appeared that he at best
would have been a second round
selection where there is no guaranteed
money.
