The store near the intersection
of Franklin Road and Wonju Street will
be the grocery chain's first in the
Roanoke region and will employ 170
people.

Ukrop's boasts a 200 seat cafe, a

There will be special offers and
prizes during the first two weeks of

So far, nearly 40-thousand
passengers have flown the discount
airline and as a result, traffic is up
by more than eight percent at the

nothing but good things to say about
Allegiant.

City officials say they're doing
all they can to protect workers.

That's the sentence for a man
accused of killing a woman last year
then dumping her body in the Roanoke
River.

to first degree murder and a firearms
charge.

The judge found Gray guilty of
killing Karen Elkins - though he still
doesn't admit it.

The 30-year-old defendant decided

unusual landmark.

Brush Creek Buffalo Store is
closing up shop at the end of the
month.

The owners, Jim and Jan Politis,

Poe-lit-is have been running the store
for 12 years, and they are ready to
retire from it.

They'll continue working on their
bison farm, selling buffalo meat and
turkey jerky wholesale to local stores
and restaurants.

Politis hopes someone will come
forward and buy the restaurant.

If there are no takers, Brush
Creek will serve its last plate of
buffalo on June 30th.

single deadliest disaster for
firefighters since the Nine Eleven

safety group.

Authorities say a newborn girl
was found in a basket on a doorstep...
45 miles from where a pregnant woman
disappeared.

Jessie Davis was last known to be

The boy was found alone in a home
with broken furniture and a pool of
bleach on the floor.

interchange to get used to.

The new Toms Creek Bridge opened
for the first time today.

It's part of a new bypass over
Route 460.

You can reach the bridge from the
east bound lanes, but it will be a few
more weeks before west-bound traffic on
Route 460 will be able to use the
interchange.

The project is about half a
million dollars under budget and two
weeks ahead of schedule.

Under a new partnership with
V-DOT, town employees handled the
entire construction project.

still in the midst of a financial
battle, but its war chest IS getting
richer.

August, 2006 For the first time since the
early 1990's, the museum will turn a

profit this fiscal year.

Budget woes last summer forced
the museum to cut back on operating
hours.

Since then more than one-
million- dollars has been donated-
allowing the Richmond landmark to be
open seven days a week.

Visitation is still at its lowest
point, though, and officials are moving
forward with plans to re- locate.

Lexington and Appomattox are
possible locations.
