in for a surprise this weekend as they
were attackedby a rabid fox.

It happened in and around
Heritage Park, which is a popular place
for people to walk their dogs.
Police say there were several
attacks.
In all, four people and two
animals were slightly injured.
Todd King was one of them.
The fox bit and scratched up his
legs in the back of his parents home
Friday night.

The fox then ran off into the
woods.
The next day the animal attacked
another person, this time on the trail.
That's when Blacksburg Police
went out and killed the fox, but not
before it attacked one of the officers.

what they're looking for, only that it
involves the April 16th shootings.
Divers waded through murky water
and trudged in waist high mud with
metal detectors.
Not an easy task considering the
mud is very thick and the smell's even
worse.

Ukrop's has officially opened the doors
at its first Roanoke location this
morning.
Meanwhile the store's competition
-- Kroger...

VO NAT has had a ten percent jump in
profits...But the company says it would
have been better if it wasn't for labor
unrest and rising costs.
More than 700 workers walked off
the job for about two days in April --
and the company's still negotiating
contracts in Southern California.
The rising cost of dairy goods
also hurt the bottom line -- but
profits were better than expected.

away, but that's not stopping people
from expressing concerns about Patrick
Henry's new stadium.

Many nearby residents are worried
about traffic and parking.
Last night the city held a public
meeting at the high school to address
any issues.
City leaders say a typical football
game should attract roughly two
thousand fans.
As a result, they believe there's
enough parking on site.

that, others are taking a wait and see
approach.

One way the city plans to discourage
street parking is to restrict access
into the new stadium.
The city will also use extra police
officers during the games to direct

market?
It could be a new service downtown
if two city council members have their
way.

held a conference to address parking
concerns of downtown merchants.
They also want to eliminate the
proposed parking increases for the rest
of the year.
The two would like to take money
from parking fines to fund the valet
parking service.
They're also calling for shuttles
for low-wage employees and reduced bulk
rate parking to attract businesses to
the downtown area.

Monday Night Flames ripped through Mapleshades
Apartments on South 13th around eight
o'clock Monday night.
In all 32 residents were
displaced.
Investigators returned to the
scene yesterday afternoon searching for
the cause, but there's still no word...
