Valley View Mall is launching the
Youth Escort Policy.

In two weeks, anyone under 18
will need a parent or adult guardian on
Friday and Saturday nights.

The mall will have guards at each
entrance to check I-D's.

After six in the evening, anyone
under 18 without supervision will be
asked to leave or their parents will be
called to pick them up.

This plan isn't going over well
with many teens.

for 38 years.

A judge upheld a jury's sentence
this afternoon.

Morva was convicted on 7-charges
related to a series of attempted
robberies in Blacksburg.

He was awaiting trial on those

charges last August when he escaped
custody.

He's accused of killing a
security officer and sheriff's deputy
while on the run and is scheduled to be
tried on those charges in September.

If convicted he faces the death
penalty.

Virginia Tech Duck Pond, State Police
divers have found nothing related to
the April 16th shootings.

divers gave up the "exhausting search"
yesterday evening.

They weren't looking for
anything specific, rather doing a more
thorough investigation of a student's
report that someone resembling
Seung-Hui Cho was near the pond between

the two shootings.

office explained its offer to give
victims' families more access to the
Virginia Tech Review Panel.

One member of the panel
would be a liason to the families.
They would also receive weekly email

water for almost two weeks. When it
came back on, they had to boil it for
nearly a week -- but the whole ordeal
is finally over.

Today, Rockbridge County's
emergency services manager said it is

We said goodbye to General
Manager Bob Lee today.

Bob is only the third G-M this
station has had in more than 50 years.

He announced plans to
retire right after the first of the
year.

A lot of us gathered for
breakfast at the station this morning,

and members of the community
wished him well this afternoon.

He'll continue to work for our
parent company Schurz Communications
Inc. as the corporation's government
affairs representative in Washington.
