Police say the "potentially viable

"made safe."

But they're not giving details on
HOW they did that.

Witnesses say doormen from a nearby
nightclub reported

that someone crashed a blue Mercedes
sedan into garbage bins, and

ran away.

The area around the vehicle was
cordoned off as a precaution this
morning, while explosives officers
examined the vehicle, causing major
traffic chaos in central London.

*CG standup Bob Grebe
bgrebe@wdbj7.com Kimberly, each year a number of
new laws are put into effect.

Starting Sunday, sexual predators
will be banned from school grounds.

Also, nursing homes and assisted
living facilities will be notified when
one moves-in nearby.

Another new law going into effect
is that kids 14-and-younger will need
parental consent to visit tanning
salons.

Also, there's a change in the age
for kids required to ride in
child-restraint devices.

That age has INCREASED from five
years old to eight ... unless a doctor
provides documentation that the child
is either too large or has other
physical reasons not to use the seat.

Those are just a few of the new
laws in place.

Of course, as the saying goes
"ignorance is no excuse for breaking

Virginia's Water Control Board is
considering raising the standard.

Currently 126- bacteria colonies
per 100- milliliters of water are

allowed.

The new proposal would allow more
than 200- colonies.

That means ten swimmers out of
one- thousand could get sick with
bloody- diarrhea and stomach cramps.

Environmentalists say raising the
level could make cleaning up Virginia's
1700- polluted streams and rivers more
practical.
