Police Officers handling a man during a
traffic stop is something that has
caught the attention of the NAACP.

The organization's leader calls
this video a concern but won't
elaborate because the case is under
investigation.

However, the local branch says it
receives complaints every week from
citizens reporting police misconduct,
one of which just came in last week.

they've received over the years has
prompted them to take action by hosting
this workshop.

The NAACP says its concern is not
with the whole police department,
rather a few officers on the force.

Which is also a concern for some
citizens who have turned out in search
of answers.

says it keeps an eye on its officers,
monitoring when and how force is used.

And the departments says that it
has actually seen a decrease in the
number of community complaints
regarding police officer's use of
force, with just 21 complaints being
filed by citizens last year.

Nevertheless, the NAACP wants the

community to know their rights as well
as their responsibility when
encountering law enforcement.

Their reminding people to do
their part by staying calm, not
resisting and complying when required.

the mental health of Seung-Hui
Cho....the gunman who killed 32 people
and himself on April 16th at Virginia
Tech.

According to the chairman of the
governor's

panel studying the killings.....Cho did
have some interaction with the campus
counseling center.

But it's still not clear whether
he actually underwent treatment.

The panel recently obtained Cho's
university mental health records.

But the records don't have enough
detail in them to indicate whether the
gunman was in fact a patient.

carded a 4-over 75 in the second round
missing out by just a single shot,
finishing at plus 7.

Michelle Wie withdrew after 27 holes
citing her sore wrist. She was 17 over
par for the tournament. Jiyai Shin is
the leader midway thru the third round.

finished at the State Amateur in
Potomac Falls as well. This morning
Salem grad Aaron Eckstein who is headed
to Tech in the fall, knocked off Trey
Treadwell 3 and 2, but Eckstein fell in
this afternoon's semifinal match to Pat
Tallent of Vienna 4 and 3. Tallent
advanced to the semis by beating
Martinsville's Keith Decker, two time
state am champ and the state's top
ranked amateur, 1-up.
