Eric Cmeyla (suh-MALE-uh)
withdrew his appeal, asking the judge
to let him serve the four-month
sentence on weekends or on work
release.

But, that didn't work.

The judge sent him directly to
jail.

Cmeyla had rear-ended a car
driven by Destinee Pucket back in
February. When she pulled over,
Cmeyla tapped on her car window with a
gun and told her and her boyfriend he
could shoot them both if he wanted to.

This afternoon the Chaticleers
decided against youth - in the form of
Franklin County native and Florida

veteran coach Cliff Ellis to take over

Ellis, who is 61-years-old is a
proven winner at Clemson, Auburn and
South Alabama.

But he also has been out of
coaching since 2004 doing TV work.

He has won over 600 games in his
career, and mostly he's gotten the job
done in very tough situations where few
people gave him a chance to succeed.

Jackson played at Tech from 1994
to 1997 along with his Twin Brother
Jim. He was a member of the 1995 N-I-T
Championship squad and served as a
Graduate Assistant to the Tech Program
from 1997-1999.

Jackson had been working out in
Southern California as a personal
trainer. One of his clients was Wayne
Gretzky's Children and we would be
remiss if we didn't mention that
Jackson was a player in the now defunct
Slamball League.
