David Jackson has been hired as
an assistant Strength and Conditioning
Coach for the Hokies.

Jackson played at Tech from 1994
to 1997 along with his Twin Brother
Jim. He was a member of the 1995 N-I-T
Championship squad and served as a
Graduate Assistant to the Tech Program
from 1997-1999.

Jackson had been working out in
Southern California as a personal
trainer. One of his clients was Wayne
Gretzky's Children and we would be
remiss if we didn't mention that
Jackson was a player in the now defunct
Slamball League.

Preston the Franklin County High School
and V-M-I Product, who is currently an
assistant Basketball Coach on Billy
Donovan's staff at Florida that just
won it's second straight National Title
will not be leaving Gainesville.

Preston was a finalist for the
Head Coaching Job at Coastal Carolina.

familiar to many here in A-C-C
Basketball country.

Cliff Ellis who had previous
stops at Clemson as well as Auburn is
taking over the Chanticleers program.

He replaces Buzz Peterson who
left for a job with the Charlotte
Bobcats.

Ellis is 61 years old and has
been doing T-V work recently. His
career record is Five-Hundred and
thirty four wins to go along with Three
Hundred and Thirty Seven Losses and has
taken 8 teams to the Big Dance.

middle Sunday off from playing tennis
this year even with a number of Rain
Delays. Play resumed today with an
interesting day for the American
Williams Sisters.

NBC/ESPN2 There was heightened security at
Wimbledon after the activities in
London over the weekend.

Venus Williams by far did not
have her best day at Wimbledon. She
had 42 unforced errors and 14 double
faults. But Venus managed to move into
the next round with a 3 set victory
where she will face Maria Sharapova.

Things weren't any easier for the
other Williams sister, Serena. In the
second set she drops to the ground with
an apparent calf injury. Serena got a
break with a rain delay in the midst of
her match. She returned to the court
with both calves wrapped and lost the
second set tie-breaker. Serena though
gutted out a win in the 3rd set to
advance to the next round.

country have been transformed into
Kwik-E-Marts, the favorite store of
Homer Simpson.


While Apu (ah-poo) will not be
behind the counter, the stores and all
the other 7-Elevens will sell items
that only existed in the TV-world like
KrustyOs cereal.

It's a promotion for the Simpsons
movie that will be released later in
the month.

There is one very prominent missing
product. There will be no "Duff" beer.

Executives say it would not be right to
promote a PG-13 move with beer.
