Methane gas is being blamed in
the death of a Mennonite dairy farmer,
his wife, their two children and a
farmhand.

climbed into a manure-holding pit last
night reportedly to clear a pipe.

That's when he was immediately

Last night Damascus Town Council
voted unanimously to fire Chief Anthony
Stephen Richardson.

Chief Richardson was arrested

last month and charged with seven
felonies, including distribution of
methamphetamine and prescription drugs.

Sid Clower has done his time, but he's
a long way from paying his debt.

half-way house about ten days ago.

During the decade he worked for
the county, Clower embezzled more than
800-thousand dollars.

He served a year and a half in

state prison, and has now completed
three years in two different
minimum-security federal prison camps.

than 90-thousand dollars in
restitution, interest charges are twice
that.

He now owes the county nearly
770-thousand dollars.

Clifton Forge has tested positive for
rabies.

The health department says the
cat was captured Friday in the western
part of the town and a test performed

rolls.

The change started Sunday, and
includes 140-thousand people who were
paying taxes-- that will no

The Denver Nuggets have invited
former Virginia Tech forward Coleman
Collins to be a part of their summer
league squad. Collins was overlooked
in last week's N-B-A draft, despite
turning heads at the pre-draft camps.

Collins was erratic his senior
season averaging just 8 points and 5
rebounds a game.

His teammate Jamon Gordon also
went undrafted, but he too will get a
shot at playing in the league.

The former Tech guard has been
added to the Dallas Mavericks summer
league roster.

And his backcourt mate - Zabian
Dowdell is now with the Seattle
Supersonics where he will play
alongside Kevin Durant.

Zabe averaged 17 points a game
for the Hokies last season.
