and a farmhand have died in a farming
accident in Rockingham County. All five
were killed by methane gas pouring out
of a manure pit on the dairy farm.

It happened about 15 miles west of
Harrisonburg in Briery Branch.
Sheriff Don Farley says 34-year-old
Scott Showalter climbed into the pit
last night to clear a pipe, when he was
immediately overcome by the gas.
A farmhand, 24-year-old Amous
Stoltzfus tried to save Showalter, and
was also overcome.
Then 33-year old Phyillis Showalter
and the family's daughters --
eleven-year-old Shayla and
nine-year-old Christina attempted to
rescue the two men.

should be in a locked room or secured
in a kennel.
Another safety tip is to
micro-chip your dog, because the center

international space station, the
shuttle landed in California June 22nd
because of bad weather in Florida.
Atlantis made the trip home to
Florida's Kennedy Space Center this
morning on the back of a modified
Boeing 7- 47.
NASA prefers to land shuttles in
Florida to avoid the more than one
and-a-half- million dollar cost to
transport them back.
