complicated...considering the dog
immediately warmed up and even gave us
a few licks....

But the point of this story is not
to look at whether a dog deserves its
designation....it's to show you the new
website.....

It works very much like the sex
offender registry...Animal control
officers enter all the information into
the database and all you have to do is
click the locality you're interested in
seeing.

Dangerous dog owners have to pay
a fee to upkeep this website among
other things. Juan had to build this
outdoor pen, put warning signs around
his home, get liability insurance...and
the thing that bothers him the most....

Clifton Forge has tested positive for
rabies.

The health department says the
cat was captured Friday in the western
part of the town and a test performed
Saturday confirmed a rabies diagnosis.

A spokesman for the Alleghany
Health District did not have a more
detailed location of the attack or
capture.

The health department asks

citizens to report any human or pet
exposure with a calico cat.

climbed into a manure-holding pit at
his farm Monday night- reportedly

But, apparently the Mennonite
farmer was overcome by methane gas that

The Fireman's Carnival in
Buchanan is still going strong after
six decades.

Along with the typical fair
rides, petting zoo and bingo games, the
homemade fries are what bring patrons
in from miles away.

Firefighters will use 6 tons of

The carnival runs through this
Saturday night, with a parade at 6
tonight and Fireworks at 10.

All proceeds benefit the Buchanan
Volunteer Fire Department.

So far this week, over $50
thousand dollars has been raised.
