funeral was held earlier today for four
members of the Showalter family who
were killed in a farming tragedy.

Cars lined the street outside of
a church in Rockingham County where the
Mennonite Community gathered to mourn
the family.

Scott Showalter, his wife and two
of their children were killed Monday
after accidentally inhaling a deadly
dose of methane gas.

The sheriff's office believes
Showalter climbed into a manure pit to
fix a pump and was overcome by methane
fumes.

Authorities say employees were
selling illegal fireworks in Franklin
County.

the second largest in Franklin County

The busts happened this week at two
well known businesses, the Boones Mill

Pottery on Route 220 and Hilltop Mulch
in Wirtz.

There, the fire marshal says he
caught employees selling illegal
fireworks out of a shed.

At Boones Mill Pottery, authorities
sent in an informant after getting a
tip.

Altogether, the fire marshal says
they seized several truck loads of
fireworks worth nearly forty thousand
dollars.

comment. The person who answered the
phone at Boones Mill Pottery had
nothing to say.

The woman who answered at Hilltop
Mulch hung up the phone.

up to a year in jail and a 25-Hundred
dollar fine.

Now, we should point out, the owner
of Boones Mill Pottery has been
convicted for selling illegal fireworks
in the past.

in the second half of the Carolina
League season.

But this week's series with the
Lynchburg Hillcats has gone a long way
toward getting the last place Avalanche
back on its feet.

The Avs were just getting warmed
up in this one as Osvaldo Fernando

Lynchburg Salem just feated on the Hillcats 3 pitching tonight scoring 12 runs and
