Yes it will Natasha, since there's
another person, a 12 year old girl from
Floyd who is also suffering from
cancer.

Natasha, the next fundraiser is
scheduled for August 25th and that will
be a softball tournament.

for months -- now it looks like charges
might soon be filed......We're talking
about the alleged dogfighting on
Michael Vick's property.

filed today.

But his Surry County property was,
and agents were back there today
searching the grounds.

The feds described the area as a
"main staging area for housing and
training pit bulls involved in the
dogfighting venture."

Authorities say Bad News Kennels"
did knowingly sponsor and exhibit an
animal in an animal fighting
venture..." and that the dog fights
have been going on at the property
since at least 2002.

Back in April -- 54 pit bulls
were seized and "the officers observed

numerous items associated with an
illegal animal fighting venture..."
Among them, a stand used to forcibly
hold dogs in place for mating.....>>

woman at the Fairlawn Walmart will not
get to take back his guilty plea.

Startz walked into the Walmart in
February of 2006 and killed his
ex-girlfriend, Donna Angelo.

Startz now says the side effects
from anti-depressant drugs drove him to

on Smith Mountain Lake and so is the
continuing search effort for a missing

boater.

April 2007 In April, 44 year-old David
Reynolds of Grottoes disappeared in the
lake after the boat he was in capsized.

Richard Smith of Moneta died in
that accident.

Two other boaters survived.

The Virginia Department of Game
and Inland Fisheries says a combination
of factors lead to the accident,
including a defect with the boat.

Reynolds.

Sergeant Bryan Young is

GRAPHIC=DENNY announced this afternoon that he is

resigning his post for both personal
and professional reasons after more
than a decade of overseeing the
University's sports teams.

1996 Denny became the second athletic
director in RU's history when he took
over for Chuck Taylor in July of 1996.
But Denny has always been a Radford man
doing everything from coaching baseball
to coordinating athletics on campus
since 1985.

Denny says he will stay on the
job until a succesor is named and that
he will aid in the transition process.
During his tenure, the Highlanders
earned their first trip to the men's
NCAA basketball tournament and the
state-of-the-art Patrick D. Cupp soccer
and track and field complex was built
along with major upgrades to the
Dedmon Center, complex.

Since new president Penny Kyle
took over at Radford, Dave Braine has
been used as a consultant for the
athletic program on several key issues.

July race is hot and dry - but not this
year.

Speed This is how things looked this
afternoon as Bill Elliott took the Wood
Brothers Ford out onto the track just
after 4pm. It was sunny and hot for his
two laps.

But shortly before five pm a
passing shower hit the track and then
just after 6:30 take a look at this.

Heavy rain forced qualifying to
be cancelled for the for the first time
in 97 races at Daytona.
Thirty-Nine drivers had gone out to
qualify and Boris Said was on the pole
when the rains came.

But because 13 drivers never got
to qualify before NASCAR cancelled it -
the whole thing is a wash and Said goes
from starting first to not even getting

in the race.

In all, 10 drivers didn't make it
including Michael Waltrip, Ward Burton
and Jeremy Mayfield who was third when
the rains came.

The field will be started based
owners points giving Jeff Gordon and
Denny Hamlin the front row.

Golf circuit.

One week after barely missing the
cut at the US Open at Pine Needles, the
16 year old from Blacksburg won the
American Junior Golf Associaton Rolex
Tournament of Champions in Columbus,
Ohio.

Ellenbogen fired a final round of

1-over 72 today to finish the four
round event at even par, good for a 5
shot win over her closest competitors
on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State.

new heights today.

Experts think the bear had left the
woods because of nearby forest fires.

Animal rescue officers were on the
