the scene.

Wells has returned to this embankment
off the Roanoke River since Friday
night, when one wrong step nearly cost
him his life.

year-old female from Charlottesville to

Authorities says the victim was

ran off Interstate 77.

8:30 am near mile marker 17 in Carroll
County.
According to police....the driver
fell a sleep at the wheel, ran up an
embankment and flipped the car.
The men were en route back to

has been investigating problems at
Danville Regional Medical Center...from
staffing complaints to emergency room
wait times.
The group presented its finding to
City Council. As a result, the
hospital's owner, LifePoint Hospitals,
has agreed to a separate review panel
to address the ongoing problems.

On Monday, Montgomery Regional
Hospital will open a new free-standing
imaging center. The 75-hundred square
foot facility has more than three
millions dollars in new technology as
well a private women's suite.
The hospital hopes at least
60-percent of its outpatient volume
will move to the new facility.

scored his very first Cup Series
victory in Charlotte, driving for an
injured Sterling Marlin in just his 2nd
career start. McMurray was promptly
annointed a star, but then went 166
races without a visit to victory lane
until last night's Pepsi 400 at
Daytona.

the hunt on the final lap.
He got a push from Jeff Gordon

NBC Sports Roger Federer has won Wimbledon
:00 for the fifth straight year defeating
Rafael Nadal in a five set epic 7-6,
4-6, 7-6, 2-6, and 6-2.
Federer joins Bjorn Borg as the only
men in 100 years to
win the Wimbledon title five straight
times. The top-ranked Swiss player was
pushed to the limit in a Grand
Slam final for the first time but held
on to win his eleventh major title.
Federer also stretched his
grass-court winning streak to 53 and
his Wimbledon winning streak to 34.
His eleven Grand Slam titles have
him tied for third on the
all-time list with Borg and Rod Laver.
They trail Pete Sampras' 14 and Roy
Emerson's 12.

the AT&T National.

Three riders crash hard midway thru the
stage, as did Australian Robbie McEwen
injuring his wrist and scraping his
knee.
McEwen recovered in time to win
a mad sprint to the finish line, taking
the 126 mile stage in 4 hours, 39
minutes, and one second. It's his 12th
career stage win in the Tour de France.
