commotion outside first thinking his
dog Bailey was barking at a deer.
When it continued though, he went
to check it and that's when he saw the
fox aggressively hunting down his dog.

It turns out Goode was right.
The Health Department spent the
weekend testing the fox and reported
today that it was infected with rabies.

poultry farmers are on alert after
thousands of turkeys tested positive.

at a farm west of Mount Jackson tested
positive for a mild form of the disease
on Friday.
That farm is now quarantined.

year old Joseph L. Pistory of
Christiansburg on Friday and charged
him with numerous counts of larceny and
vandalism.

Pistory, on video tape, stealing from a
car at the Frog Pond swimming pool.
The vehicle and cameras were set
up by the sheriff's office in responce

released the name of the officer who
shot a suspect over the weekend.

Saturday It all started when someone filed
a false car-jacking report.
Police spotted the car at about
five o'clock Saturday morning at Sheetz
on Orange Avenue.
Officer say the driver, 30-year
old Chauncey Wade tried to escape --
that's when Berrman was pinned between
two cars. She opened fire, hitting Wade
in the leg.

activist in our area has passed
away...Margie Jumper was known by many
as Virginia's answer to Rosa Parks.
Ten years before Parks famously
refused to give up her seat to a white
man on a bus in Montgomery Alabama,
Jumper did the same thing on a Roanoke
street car.

its all-star break and tonight the
all-stars got together in San Francisco
for the annual Homerun derby.

ESPN The atmosphere was festive with
pregame fireworks and a pre-event
concert from the counting Crows. The
homers were plentiful - even though
Barry Bonds, A-Rod, and Big Pappi among
many others did not participate.
One guy who was called in at the
last minute - put on a show. Former
Salem Avalanche star Matt Holliday.
The Colorado Avalanche star - has
24 homers in the first half of the
season and in the first round tonight
he would jack five to advance to the
next round.
In fact in the second round he
put on an even more impressive show as
he jacked eight homers out of the park.
But Holliday could not make the
finals - we'll let you know wins it
tonight at 11 - over on WDBJ.

Williams, who later represented many of
the sports top teams as a public
relations specialist - pleaded guilty
today to two counts of first-degree
sexual offense, one count of statutory
rape and three counts of taking
indecent liberties with a child. He
was sentenced to 20 years in prison and
this sentence will run concurrently
with a federal sentence he's already
serving for having sex with an 11 year
old girl.
That's no likely to please
anybody and the other news today from
NASCAR also ruffled some feathers.

Pepsi - the drink company that
basically help found the sport is being
replaced by Cole at 10 tracks including
Daytona.
Starting next year Coke will
replace Pepsi at all of the
International Speedway Corporation
owned tracks.
Most will change immediately to
the Coca-Cola brand, but that won't be
the case at Martinsville.
Pepsi is under contract with the
Martinsville Speedway at least through
2009.
In fact, Martinsville has been a
Pepsi track for 59 of its 60 years of
existence.
You can look for Pepsi to
re-focus its cash and sponsor one or
two drivers next season.

The company is also rolling out a
new version of the PS-3..which comes

video game.
That will cost 599 dollars...but
