around 4:30 in the morning. At first
he thought his beloved Bailey was
simply chasing off a deer.

That something turned out to be a
fox which tested positive for rabies.
And this isn't the only case we seen in
the past few weeks. A couple of days
ago in Clifton Forge, animal control
officers tried to round up all the
stray cats after a rabid cat bit
someone. And this bite came from a fox
last month in Blacksburg.

Valley.

More than 50-thousand turkeys
will be destroyed after testing
positive for a mild strain of the avian
flu.

Jackson in Shenandoah County were
infected.

car, police found nine bags of crack
cocaine....

Christiansburg on Friday and charged
him with numerous counts of larceny and
vandalism.

finally underway for the fall semester.

This year's crop of freshmen are
more than 5-thousand strong.

They'll be learning about Tech in
groups of about 300 for the next three
weeks.

Many of the new students tell
News 7, watching the Hokie spirit after
April 16th made them want to be Hokies
more than ever.

and employees of Dan River
Incorporated have been able to buy
products directly from the company.

That will end on July 31 when
the Dan River Factory Store closes.

The company says sales have
been declining over the last year and a
half.

The Southside textile maker
was sold to an Indian company in 2005.
Many of its operations have moved
overseas.

its all-star break and tonight the
all-stars got together in San Francisco
for the annual Homerun derby.

ESPN The atmosphere was festive with
pregame fireworks and a pre-event
concert from the counting Crows. The
homers were plentiful - even though
Barry Bonds, A-Rod, and Big Pappi among
many others did not participate.

One guy who was called in at the
last minute - put on a show. Former
Salem Avalanche star Matt Holliday was
nameda replacement this morning at 8.

The Colorado Rockies star - has
15 homers in the first half of the
season and in the first round tonight
he would jack five to advance to the

next round.

In fact in the second round he
put on an even more impressive show as
he ripped eight homers out of the park.

But his 13 homers came up short
as the Angels Vladimir Guerrero won the
derby.

Williams, who later represented many of
the sports top teams as a public
relations specialist - pleaded guilty
today to two counts of first-degree
sexual offense, one count of statutory
rape and three counts of taking
indecent liberties with a child. He
was sentenced to 20 years in prison and
this sentence will run concurrently
with a federal sentence he's already
serving for having sex with an 11 year
old girl.

That disturbing news bothers us
all and some other news today from
NASCAR also ruffled some feathers.

Pepsi - the drink company that
basically help found the sport is being
replaced by Coke at 10 tracks including
Daytona.

Starting next year Coke will
replace Pepsi at all of the

International Speedway Corporation
owned tracks.

Most will change immediately to
the Coca-Cola brand, but that won't be
the case at Martinsville.

Pepsi is under contract with the
Martinsville Speedway at least through
2009.

In fact, Martinsville has been a
Pepsi track for 59 of its 60 years of
existence.

You can look for Pepsi to
re-focus its cash and sponsor one or
two drivers next season.

cut the price of its Playstation three.
