factor but what we do know, is five
people are confirmed dead from a small
plane crash in central Florida.

The husband of a NASCAR executive
and a pilot for NASCAR were among the
victims.

The twin engine Cessna was headed
from Daytona Beach to Lakeland when the
pilot reported smoke in the
cockpit...he tried to land in Orlando
but crashed about a mile or two from
the airport.

At least three people on the
ground were hurt.

Among them, a ten year old boy
with burns over 80 to 90 percent of his
body.

GRAPHIC=Forest Fire Rockbridge County is seeing some

thick smoke today as a forest fire
makes its way through the Jefferson
National Forest.

The fire is burning about three
miles south of Glasgow.

Fire crews aren't positive but
believe it was started by lightning.

The flames began early Monday
morning and now cover over 200 acres.
All trails and some roads within the
area are closed.

About 80 firefighters are working
to contain the fire, but wind and high
temperatures are making it difficult.

several months ago left a lot of people
disappointed.

But we're happy to report they're
"reeling" in customers once again at
Parker's Seafoord restaurant.

January They tell us it's been a long six
months.

It was back in January when a
fire heavily damaged the restaurant on
Peters Creek Road.

The kitchen was completely
destroyed and other parts of the
restaurant experienced smoke and water
damage.

The owners say while the cleanup
was tough, saying goodbye to long time
customers was even tougher.

even though a lot of things haven been
replaced.

communities are using cameras to catch
drivers who run red lights... and here
in Virginia, a new law will allow local
governments to follow suit.

Roanoke Regional Jail were getting
water when they heard howling.

Initially, they thought it was a
wild animal, but then spotted a dog on

This Afternoon Joe Raccuia (RUH-COO-YUH) A 1995
Radford graduate, replaces his former
coach Lew Kent, who stepped down
following the 2007 season.

Raccuia was RU's team captain in
1995, and he has been an assistant
coach at Geroge Mason, George
Washington and most recently at the
University of Alabama and he was the

head coach at Marist.

RU hasn't had a winning season
since 2000.

kinds of publicity and made all kinds
of headlines on Sunday and in the
Monday morning papers after a post race
scuffle brokw out at Watkins Glen.

But in the end - those involved
still must pay.

Sunday-IRL Tonight the IRL announced :00 penalities against Sam Hornish, Junior
in the red and white car and Tony
Kanaan in the green and white car.

Kanaan's team, Andretti Green
Racing, and Hornish's team, Team
Penske, were fined $25,000 each for
unsportsmanlike conduct on pit road as
the cars returned after the checkered
flag. The teams are also on probation
until Dec. 31. The altercation at the
Watkins Glen Grand Prix broke out when
the drivers exited their cars.
Hornish's father pushed Kanaan, then
was knocked to the ground by members of
Kanaan's crew.

Sam Hornish Sr. has been
suspended from pit lane for one race
and he also has been placed on

probation until December 31st. The
teams, drivers and others penalized may
appeal the penalties. But as we've seen
over the years in racing - it usually
is a waste of time.
