scare.

confirmed two strays cats that were

They were initially picked up
after a rabid cat attacked a person
late last month.

A fox attacked a dog early Friday
morning on Camp North Road. It was shot
and killed.

Test results proved it did have

took to the water to help out a dog
today.

water when they heard howling.

They thought it was a wild
animal... but then saw a dog on the
opposite shore of the Roanoke River.

It seemed to be hurt and had

what a restaurant is before there's
another effort to ban smoking there.

File Tape Earlier this year the legislature
extinguished his efforts to ban smoking
in restaurants.

Many lawmakers feared the
definition of the facilities- which
includes everything from cafeterias to
sidewalk stands- was too broad.

Now the Health Department is
working with interested parties to
propose a new definition that tightens
up what "restaurant" means.

Leaders of the hospitality
industry say many restaurants are going
smoke- free on their own, while others
would like the OPTION of allowing

has burned 200 acres of the Jefferson
National Forest.

It's about three miles south of
Glasgow. It started early yesterday
morning.

Fire crews aren't positive, but
think it was started by lightning.

Around 80 firefighters were on
the scene, but the high temperatures
and wind are made it hard to control.

Monday morning papers after a post race
scuffle brokw out at Watkins Glen.

But in the end - those involved

Sunday-IRL Tonight the IRL announced :00 penalities against Sam Hornish, Junior
in the red and white car and Tony
Kanaan in the green and white car.

Kanaan's team, Andretti Green
Racing, and Hornish's team, Team
Penske, were fined $25,000 each for
unsportsmanlike conduct on pit road as
the cars returned after the checkered
flag. The teams are also on probation
until Dec. 31. The altercation at the
Watkins Glen Grand Prix broke out when
the drivers exited their cars.
Hornish's father pushed Kanaan, then
was knocked to the ground by members of
Kanaan's crew.

Sam Hornish Sr. has been
suspended from pit lane for one race

and he also has been placed on
probation until December 31st. The
teams, drivers and others penalized may
appeal the penalties. But as we've seen
over the years in racing - it usually
is a waste of time.

Craftsman Truck Series driver Aaron

Fike and his fiancee were in court
today in Mason, Ohio after spending the
weekend in jail on drug charges.

Police say the two were arrested
Saturday in the parking lot of Kings
Island amusement park north of
Cincinnati after security guards
witnessed suspicious behavior inside a
vehicle. Police found syringes and a
brown substance in the car, and Fike
later admitted to using black tar
heroin in the back of his SUV.

Fike's attorney says his client
has agreed to undergo drug and alcohol
evaluation.

Fike drives the Number One Toyota
Tundra for Red Horse Racing and is
currently 8th in the point standings.

NASCAR has a no tolerance drug
policy and David Green will drive the
truck this week in Kentucky.
