The Jefferson National Forest is seeing
some heavy flames this afternoon, as a
raging forest fire makes its way
through the James River Face
Wilderness.

The fire is burning around three
miles south of Glasgow and has spread
to more than 200 acres. It began early
Monday morning.
About 80 firefighters are working
to contain the fire, but high
temperatures and wind have made things

avian flu antibodies on a Shenandoah
County farm.

state health commissioner is now
working with stakeholders to propose a
new definition.
Polls reveal most Virginians
support smoke- free restaurants.
Hospitality officials say they'd
like to have the option to allow
smoking in their businesses, but that
there's already a trend to go smoke
free.

This Afternoon Joe Raccuia (RUH-COO-YUH) A 1995
Radford graduate, replaces Lew Kent,
who stepped down following the 2007
season. Raccuia played for and later
coached under Kent. In 1995 he was
Radford's team captain.
He was the head coach at Marist
and has been an assistant coach at
Geroge Mason, Geroge Washington and
most recently at the University of
Alabama.

game takes place tonight in San
Francisco.
In recent years the mid-summer
classic has lost a lot of its luster
due to boring games and the black cloud
of steriods.
But tonight there will be plenty
of cheers for the man who is always
under the big league microscope - Barry
Bonds.
The Giants star got a late surge
of votes from the fans, so he will be
in the starting lienup tonight batting
second in his home park.

Last Night-ESPN Bonds did not take part in the
homerun derby contest last night, but
former Salem Avalanche star Matt
Holliday who was a late fill-in was
amazing.
Holliday hit a total of 13 homers
in the first two rounds and missed
making the championship round by just
one homer.
Vladimir Guerrero eventually won
last night's contest thanks in part to
homer that travled over 500 feet.

publisher William Randolph Hearst was
put on the market yesterday for
165-million dollars.
It is the nation's most expensive
residential listing.
Hearst bought the mansion in 1947 for
about 120,000-thousand dollars.
The 1920s-era, pink stucco estate is
spread across six and a half acres
north of Sunset Boulevard.
It has three pools, 29 bedrooms, a
movie theater, a disco and separate
residence for the security staff. The
estate was featured in the film ``The
Godfather.''
