They were shocked and burned
inside the foundry behind me. As you
can see it's been closed for years, but
the electricity still runs through.

A midnight burglary into the old
Radford Foundry quickly turned tragic.

A father and son passed through this
door warning of high voltage

steal copper from what they thought was

Authorities say the rising cost
in scrap metal has lead to an increase

Augusta County man to avoid the death
penalty.

pled guilty yesterday to the 2002
murders of Rhonda and Timothy Chaplin.

The plea agreement calls for
Huffman to serve two consecutive life
sentences for their deaths.

Augusta County in August, 2002.

Huffman was reportedly Rhonda
Chaplin's ex-boyfriend.

She had been scheduled to testify

Forty-year-old Thomas Manuel Paige,
Junior, arrived at the Roanoke airport
just before 4:00 this afternoon.

The U.S. Marshal says he believes
Paige had been in Jamaica ever since he
allegedly shot and killed several
people at an apartment on Staunton
Avenue in 1989.

Debra Salters and Slyvia Baker were
killed. Joyce Washington and Wilford
Branch survived the attack. They
helped identify Paige as the shooter.

this summer. Today the Blacksburg high
school student earned a spot on the
East Team at the 18th annual Canon Cup

to be held in Tennessee at the end of
this month.

Last Month Ellenbogen will be one of 40
junior golfers from around the country
playing in the event. Past
participants in this Cup competition
includes the likes of Tiger Woods,
Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel.
Courtney earned her way in this event
with her steady play this summer. She
has won two American Junior Golf
Association events the Mizuno Junior at
Chateau Elan outside of Atlanta in
April and the Rolex Tournament of
Champions last week in Ohio.
Ellenbogen has 12 additional top-10
finishes in national junior golf events
and recently qualified for the 2007
U.S. Women's Open. She currently is
ranked Nunder 6 in the nation by the
Polo Golf Rankings. The Canon Cup is
unique in that each team consists of 10
boys and 10 girls with Mississippi
River serving as the East-West dividing

line.
