Fire crews in Roanoke evacuated
three homes tonight -- after someone
accidentally tore the gas meter from
the side of their house.

Williamson road a little after nine
o'clock.
A battalion chief says they
evacuated the houses nearby just as a
precautionary measure.

Altavista turned deadly.

ended with 35-year-old Herman Kelly

Michael Buorkan (byour-kin) was going
on I-81 back in April.....Found guilty
in district court today...he pled no
contest to reckless driving and driving
without a motorcycle license.
Police say the chase started at
milemarker 134 near Salem and did not
end until Buorkan crashed at exit 162
in Botetourt County.
A judge gave him the maximum
sentence allowed: 12-months in jail, a
25-hundred dollar fine plus court costs
and a six-month suspended license.

Mustang at the Elm exit of 581.
Wimmer was thrown from the
motorcycle.
He was taken to Roanoke Memorial

The driver of the mustang was not
injured.

afternoon rounds.

those - three time champ David Tolley
survived with a 4 and 2 win over Doug
Henson before beating John Swanson

The youngsters also made their

third and John Bradberry.
Another young player made himself
right at home, as Parker Davis gave
veteran Mark Funbderbuirke all he
wanted before Funderburke emerged with
a one up win. He later fell in the
afternoon though.
The tournament continues through
tomorrow with the title match set for
Noon.
