Fire crews in Roanoke evacuated

three homes tonight -- after someone
accidentally tore the gas meter from
the side of their house.

o'clock.

A battalion chief says they
evacuated the houses nearby just as a
precautionary measure.

They were only outside for about

man accused of burning himself while

48-year-old Stanley William
Deloach, Junior, was arrested
Wednesday.

Investigators say Deloach

made contact online with what turned
out to be special agents of the
Virginia State Police.

He's being held without

after an early morning fight in
Altavista turned deadly.

16-hundred block of Toddsbury Road
shortly after midnight for a reported
disturbance.

A fight between several people
ended with 35-year-old Herman Kelly
Senior of Petersburg being stabbed in
the chest several times -- he was
pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities later got a tip about
where the suspect and two others had
fled to.

That's how fast 20-year-old Kevin
Michael Buorkan (byour-kin) was going
on I-81 back in April.....Found guilty
in district court today...he pled no
contest to reckless driving and driving
without a motorcycle license.

Police say the chase started at
milemarker 134 near Salem and did not
end until Buorkan crashed at exit 162
in Botetourt County.

A judge gave him the maximum
sentence allowed: 12-months in jail, a
25-hundred dollar fine plus court costs
and a six-month suspended license.

motorcycle after an accident on
Interstate 581 this evening.

25 year old Gary Wimmer of
Roanoke ran into the back of a 20-00
Mustang at the Elm exit of 581.

Wimmer was thrown from the
motorcycle.

He was taken to Roanoke Memorial
Hospital with non-life threatening
injuries and has been charged with
following too close.

The driver of the mustang was not
injured.

Another young player made himself
right at home, as Parker Davis gave
veteran Mark Funbderbuirke all he
wanted before Funderburke emerged with
a one up win. He later fell in the
afternoon though.
