with two felonies.

This after, officials say

48-year-old Stanley William Deloach, Jr
tried to solicit sex over the internet
from an undercover officer.

this June when he resigned.

He tells us Deloach taught media
and history.

He wouldn't provide more details
about Mr. Deloach.

However, students and parents
tell us that he was the most popular
teacher at the school.

and Micheal Moser remember their 8th
grade teacher Mr. Deloach.

He was simply known as "Mr. D" to
them, and others around Forest Middle
School where he was a teacher for
several years.

So when they heard the news their
favorite teacher was now facing
criminal charges, it was unbelievable

nothing inappropriate every happened at

GRAPHIC=Fatal Accident A police pursuit early this

morning left one man dead.

Bedford County Deputies were in
pursuit of Justin Ryan Smith of Forrest
Virginia on Bellevue (BELL VIEW) Rd.

Smith lost control of his Chevy
Blazer and ran off the right side of
the road. He hit a tree and was
ejected.

He was not wearing his seatbelt.


The 20 year old was pronounced
dead at the scene.

The crash is still under
investigation.

Carroll County got a little more than
they bargained for when they went out
on a call about a car on fire this
morning.

Hillsville Volunteer Fire Dept. When crews arrived at a gas
station off exit 14 on Interstate 77
south in Hillsville, they found the
front of a truck on fire.


A member of the Hillsville
Volunteer Fire Department says the gas
pumps were shut down while crews
battled the flames.

We're told a short in the
vehicle's wires caused it to ignite.

The situation got a little bumpy
for a second there when one of the
truck's front tires exploded.

No one was hurt.

the largest payout to date in the
church's sexual abuse scandal.

The archdiocese will pay alleged
clergy abuse victims at least 600
million dollars.

Attorneys for both sides are
expected to announce the deal Monday.
Sources with knowledge of the agreement
say the archdioces and its insurers
will pay each of the 500 alleged
victims a little over a million

Games has set up shop at Salem's
Kiwanis Field this weekend. The local
entry from the West took on the East in
this morning's second game.

East vs. West--Commonwealth Games It was a picture perfect day for :00 baseball.

The West built on a 2-1 lead in
the third when Josh Holskey from Lord
Botetourt lifts a fly ball to
centerfield. That was deep enough to
bring in Pulaski County's Jared King
from third on the sacrifice fly for a
3-1 cushion.

Then in the 4th. Justin
Thompson from Tunstall stands in and
crushes this delivery over the wall in
left centerfield to make it a 4-1 game.

The West tacked on two more
and Mikey O'Brien from Hidden Valley did *CG final East the rest, allowing just one run on 1 three hits in picking up the win 6 to 1 West over the East. Also today, the Central 6 beat the North and the East took out
the North as well. The West and
Central are back on the diamond
tonight.

the coaching staffs for the various
teams have changed significantly with
the exception of the one that handles
the West squad.

former baseball boss at Wiliam Byrd,
has been coaching the Commonwealth
Games baseball for 17 years.

His assistant Jim Thacker from
Jefferson Forest has been working him
for 16 of those summers. The love of
the game and the comraderie keep both
men coming back year after year.

Match Play Championship at Hidden
Valley.

squared off with another three time
winner David Tolley in the
quarterfinals this afternoon. Tolley

missed this short putt early and Baber
advanced with a 4 and 3 win.

Tony Hart had his flat stick
working right here right in the heart.
But it wasn't enough to beat Tim Cone
who's moving on thanks to a 4 and 3
victory.

Jack Allara had the good stroke
early as well, knocking in the short
putt, but Chad Young the lowest
remaining seed at 44th, had just enough
to prevail with a 1-up win over Allara
the 4th seed.

And rounding out the final four
will be Michael Wade who recorded a 3
and 1 victory over another youngster
Brandon LaCroix.
