"three homes" last night -- after
someone accidentally TORE the gas
meter... from the side of their house.

after nine o'clock.

A battalion chief says they
evacuated the houses nearby just as a
"precautionary" measure.

Residents were only outside for

He's being held without

motorcycle after an accident...on
Interstate 581 last night.

Wimmer was thrown from the
motorcycle.

The driver of the mustang was not

(byour-kin)... was going on I-81 back
in April.

He was found guilty in district
court yesterday. He pled NO CONTEST to
reckless driving and driving without a
motorcycle license.

Police say the CHASE started at
milemarker 134 near Salem... and did
not end until Buorkan CRASHED at exit
162 in...Botetourt County.

A judge gave him the maximum
sentence allowed... 12-months in jail,
a 25-hundred dollar fine...PLUS court
costs...and a six-month suspended
license.

Lightning and heavy rain fell
across Spokane, Washington Friday.

Streets were flooded and
thousands of residents lost power.

The storm also sparked a rash of
wildfires across Eastern Washington.

Recent hot temperatures have
dried out vegetation making for perfect
conditions for a lightning bolt to
spark fires.

And those hot temperatures across
Eastern Washington have sped up the
growing season for some fruit.

At Spokane-area fruit farms,
cherries are one of the fruits being
harvested early.

Growers have also noticed
apricots and peaches ripening ahead of
schedule.

Finally, a powerful typhoon
pounded Japan's southern Okinawa island
chain Friday, cutting power to tens of
thousands of households and grounding

hundreds of flights.

The typhoon had sustained wind
speeds of 112 miles-per-hour.

Heavy rain falling at a rate of
more than 2 inches an hour inundated
some areas Friday morning.

A storm total of 20 inches of
rain could fall for some.

Forecasters say the typhoon could
move close to Tokyo tomorrow, but they
can't tell if the capital city will
take a direct hit.

York for a school SHOOTING plot.

found in the parking lot of this
McDonalds that first TIPPED OFF police.
This is where the teens worked.

In it they found the writings of a
15 year old boy. The journal contained
numerous threats to SHOOT students and
DETONATE explosives at his Long Island
high school..

When authorities confiscated his
computer they found even more evidence.
