raise usage rates by more than
25-percent.
But after public outcry, the
state reduced it to A 3.1 percent hike
back in May.

The power company is now asking
the state to approve rate adjustments
for fuel costs, and environmental
projects.
If approved, a customer's bill
would go up about 4.7 percent in
September and then another 3.5 percent
in December.
For the average customer, that
would add another six to eleven dollars
to your monthly bill.
Appalachian Power realizes that
may be a little hard to swallow
considering customers just a saw an
increase two months ago.

trial moved out of Montgomery County.

escaped authorities last August.
He's accused of killing two
people while on the run.
His escape lead to a 37 hour
manhunt and shutdown the Virginia Tech
campus on the first day of classes.
His attorneys says the media

unprecedented.
The commonwealth says publicity
is not reason enough to move the trial
out of the county.
Judge Ray Grubbs says he will
make a final decision on whether or not
to move the trial in the next few
weeks.

County are hoping an anonymous caller
can help solve a more than two year old
mystery.

Police say they're going over
leads and information and actively
working this case...
In fact.. it was just this past
May that police searched Smith Mountain

neighbors.. lived off 221 and was

killed outside the Colorado governor's
offices today.

the Carolina league season will begin a
3 game homestand Tuesday Night against
Frederick standing just 3 and half
games out of first place in the
Southern Division.
Well they may not be leading the
standings they are leading the league
in Hitting.
