Probably not Natasha, the General
Assembly has done away with interim
increases. So this time around, the

move his trial to another jurisdiction.

manhunt and shutdown the Virginia Tech

weekend a Texas caseworker became the
victim.

Police say the couple was out
Saturday evening, came home and got
into an argument.
That's when officers believe the
suspect doused his girlfriend with gas

(END SOT) year that Roanoke has hosted what is in
effect the State's Olympic games.
In those nearly two decades - 143
thousand athletes have made the trek to
the Roanoke Valley.
It is a unique weekend of
competition to be sure and one that has
managed to sustain some staying power
over the years.

Localities in the valley help the
games with staffing, funding and
facilities.
Already nearly 3000 athletes have
competed in games this year in
everything from all-star baseball to
Black Powder shooting.
58 sports in all will make up
this year's Coventry Commonwealth Games
and Lampman suggests fans take in
something a little different this year.

place Friday night at eight with guest
speaker - Rebecca Lobo - the former

Tournament for Virginia Tech's Men's
basketball team this past season was
due greatly to the efforts their senior
backcourt of Zabian Dowdell and Jamon
Gordon. Those 2 are trying to make it
in the N-B-A currently.
Nigel Munson evidently did not
want to follow in their footsteps.
There have been rumors all summer
that Munson wanted to transfer, that
now appears to be happening.

2006-07 Season The Washington Post is reporting
that Munson will transfer from Virginia
Tech after only one season.
The Paper says that Munson who
went to Dematha High School in the
Washington D.C. area has been released
from his Scholarship by the school.
Munson played in 32 games last
season for the hokies, averaging 11
minutes and 3 points per game.

verbal commitments from soon to be High
School Seniors. Isaiah Hamlette a
Defensive End from Stafford, Virginia
commited. He was joined in the
commitment line by Lorenzo Williams a
Defensive Back from Fayeteville, North
Carolina. Williams was in Blacksburg
this past weekend for one of the Hokies
one day camps.

The other commitment comes from a
regular this past season on Friday
Football Extra. Peter Rose who helped
lead Amherst to a State Title this past
season will be making his way to
Blacksburg.
Rose who is 6'1" and a hundred
and 8-5 pounds. Plays Quarterback as
well as Defensive Back for Scott
Abell's Lancers. Quarterback does not
appear to be a position for him in
college though.
Rose joins his current teammate
as a Hokie Commitment, Wide Receiver
Dereck McCoy. Rose is rated as a Top
30 recruit in the State of Virginia and
had offers from a number of Division 1
schools, choosing Tech over U-V-A.
