that police searched Smith Mountain

weekend.
The policy - at best - is
controversial but like it or not, Mall
officials says it's sticking around.

killed in an accident this morning in
North Carolina.

following the collision between a car
and a tractor trial truck.
The woman driving the car was killed
in the wreck. Investigators closed down

Ticker and we begin with the on-going
saga that has been Nigel Munson and the
Virginia Tech Basketball Team. It has
been rumored for months that the Point
Guard would not be returning to the
Hokies this upcoming season.

VO-NAT According to the Washington Post
that now appears to be the truth.
Munson will transfer from Virginia Tech
after playing only one season for Seth
Greenberg. The Post reports that
Munson has received his release from
the University.
Munson was expected to take over
as the starting point guard with the
graduation of Zabian Dowdell and Jamon
Gordon.

good news for the Virginia Tech
coaching staff, which continues to pick
up commitments from High School
Football Players. The Hokies nabbed 2
verbal committments this morning. One
coming from Lorenzo Williams a
Defensive Back from Fayeteville, North
Carolina. Williams was in Blacksburg
this past weekend for one of the Hokies
one day camps.

VO-NAT The Other commitment comes from a
player familiar to the Friday Football
Extra Viewing area. Peter Rose the
Quarterback of Defending State
Champion, Amherst, is on his way to
Virginia Tech.
Rose who is listed at 6'1" 185
pounds probably won't play Quarterback
in College for Tech. He also plays
Defensive Back for the Lancers.
Rose joins his current teammate
as a Hokies Commitment, Wide Receiver
Derick McCoy. Rose is rated as a Top
30 recruit in the State of Virginia and
had offers from a number of Division 1
schools including the University of
Virginia.

two straight nights off, before they
open a three game set at home with
Frederick Tuesday night.
The Avalanche is 3 and a half
games out in the standings, but the
team currently leads the Carolina
League in hitting.

This week Britain's Royal Mail is
issuing a commemorative set of stamps
to celebrate the hugely successful
young wizard.
The release of the stamps is timed to
coincide with the launch of the last
novel in the Harry Potter series,
'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows,'
which goes on sale on July 21st.
The Royal Mail is issuing seven
first-class stamps that feature the
cover art from the editions of each of
the seven Potter books.

of the Phoenix" movie opened at number-one, with more
than 77 million dollars in ticket sales
this weekend.
"The Order of the Phoenix" has
brought in 140 milliion since opening
