Vick has been indicted by a federal
grand jury for his alleged role in an
illegal dog fighting ring....This all
supposedly happened on his Surry County
property that's been searched by
investigators several times....

We must warn you how some of the
details in this story are disturbing.

In court papers filed Tuesday,
Former Hokies Star Michael Vick and

three others, Purnell Peace, Quanis
Phillips and Tony Taylor were all
charged with one federal count of
illegal dog fighting...That includes
illegal gambling....sponsoring and
exhibiting dogs in dog fights......and
being involved in bringing dogs onto
the property specifically for fighting.

Accoring to the documents,back in
2001, which would have been Vick's
rookie year with the Falcons, Vick
"PURCHASED AND DEVELOPED A PARCEL OF
PROPERTY TO SERVE AS THE MAIN STAGING
AREA FOR HOUSING AND TRAINING PITT
BULLS INVOLVED IN THE ANIMAL FIGHTING
VENTURE AND FOR HOSTING DOG FIGHTS."

Authorities say the dog fighting
enterprise was known as Bad Newz
Kennels and all the key players had
code names..

And when dogs didn't perform well
authorities say they were
executed....Here are two specific
examples listed in the indictment......

IN "MARCH OF 2003, PEACE, AFTER
CONSULTING WITH VICK ABOU THE LOSING
FEMALE PITT BULL'S CONDITION, EXECUTED
THE LOSING DOG BY WETTING THE DOG DOWN
WITH WATER AND ELECTROCUING THE

ANIMAL."

The feds say those weren't the
only executions .....the idictment
lists this example from just a few
months ago.....

PHILLIPS, AND VICK EXECUTED
APPROXIMATELY 8 DOGS THAT DID NOT
PERFORM WELL IN "TESTING" SESSIONS AT

INLCUDING HANGING, DROWNING AND
SLAMMING AT LEAST ONE DOG'S BODY TO THE

If convicted, Vick and the others
could face up to six years in prison,
$350,000 in fines and restitution.

The Falcons released a statement
on their website.

Police say skid marks on the roadway

argument last winter.

43-year-old James Edward Shaner was
convicted of second-degree murder today
after a two-day trial.

temperature today in Roanoke was 89 and
the low was 70. On the radar tonight,
most of the showers and storms have
diminished with the loss of daytime
heating. Any remaining shower should be
light. Areas that received rain today

most of the showers and storms have

show. Michael Vick has been indicted
by a Federal Grand Jury. This could
have a definite impact on his N-F-L
Career. The league recently passed a
Code of Conduct Policy.

have been suspended by the N-F-L for
their transgressions with the law.
What Vick's penalty could be from the
league will depend on what the
Commissioner of the League Roger
Goodell decides. There is no jury,
just the commissioners opinion and what

already suspended Adam "Pacman" Jones
for the entire 2-thousand and 7 for his
run-ins with the law.

Saturday in Maine and will end this

weekend in Hollywood, Florida will
cover around 28 hundred miles, all to
benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp
for disabled and terminally ill
children in Randleman, North Carolina.
Kyle and the bikes have stopped in the
Commonwealth before, but this is the
first year that the ride has gone from
North to South, rather than West to
East.

In addition to Nascar royalty, Kyle has
employed some super celebrity star
power for this year's ride, from a
football hero to a supermodel, cruising
through the countryside for a second
time.

is sure not a quick one, but Longwood
University has successfully gone from a
Division 2 School in Athletics to a
bona fide D-1 School. Longwood made it
known back in 2-thousand and 2 that
they wanted to make the jump up a
Division.

which is the length of time that the
N-C-A-A requires. Longwood went
through all the steps and as of

1 School and compete in all athletics
