<< Good evening, I'm Robin Reed in the
SkyTracker7 Forecast Center. The high
temperature today in Roanoke was 90 and
the low was 70. Locally tonight,
showers and storms appear to be staying
south of the area. We are watching a
complex of storms heading out of Ohio
that may bring an isolated shower to
the Highlands early Thursday morning.
Then, the heat and humidity return
Thursday afternoon, with temperatures
soaring into the 90s. It could very
well feel like the hottest day of the
summer in the Piedmont tomorrow with
heat index values near 100 degrees. The
national analysis shows Bermuda high

pressure keeping winds out of the
southwest for one more day. A cold
front in the Great Lakes will sweep
through Friday, providing a chance of
storms and then dropping temperatures
and humidity for the weekend. Cool high
pressure will keep temperatures in the
