Specialized workers are cleaning up
the dirt and debris at the site of

Wednesday s steam explosion on
Manhattan s east side. The 1920 s
pipe that

exploded was likely wrapped in asbestos
and traces of it were found in dust

that settled on the ground.

But tests conducted this morning did
not show any asbestos in the air.. and

officials say long term health problems
were quote, "unlikely."

Sot: Abe Zaza/Postal Worker

(Karen Brown bridge/Manhattan)

For thousands of New Yorkers trying to
get to work today the commute was a

challenge. Some subway stops are
being skipped.. and Several blocks
remain

closed as investigators work to
find out what caused the blast.

(natz chaos)

It happened during the height of the
evening rush hour...bringing fear and

chaos to a bustling area near Grand
Central Station. the blast KILLED ONE

AND INJURED DOZENS.. Most hit by
falling pieces of asphalt blown into

the

air. Mayor Bloomberg quickly declared
it an accident.

Sot: Mike Bloomberg/NYC Mayor

there is no reason to believe this is
anything other than a failure of our

infrastructure.

But many still relived the horrors of
9-11.

Sot: Tony Richards/Commuter

"we live in a strategic zone.. anything
can happen here"

Experts say cold rain water in the
pipe could have caused the blast, but
the

investigation is far from over. Tests
of the air in the area will also

continueto make sure it is safe for the
thousands of New Yorkers who live and

work in the area.

Billy Ray Cyrus joins us now via
satellite.

Good afternoon to you...

So much has happened since those Achy
Breaky days early on--- What's it like

sharing the spotlight with your teenage
daughter?

Let's talk about the new album,
"Home at Last." We heard a little bit
of the song "Ready Set Don't
Go"..what's the story behind it?

Did this album kind of rejuvenate your
love of music-- I read that you'd
considered stopping music all
together....

As we know, you're on "Hannah
Montana," and were recently on "Dancing
with the Stars"..do you have any other
T-V projects in the works..or maybe any
movies??
