Governor Tim Kaine to call a special

with the Abusive Driver Fees.

ENG#=1 VO-NAT

VO-NAT In a release this morning Bell

pointed to an online petition signed by
150 thousand people, saying Virginians
wanted the situation dealt with sooner
than later.

Bell said since the current General
Assembly approved the measure in the
first place, those members should be
the ones to correct it.

The fees went into effect July
first. They range from 900 dollars to
three-thousand dollars.

The fees apply to charges such as
reckless driving, drunken driving and
felonies including hit-and-run or
vehicular manslaughter.

In areas hardest hit, THREE MONTHS of
rainfall pelted parts of England in
just

48 hours, triggering a series of floods
as rivers burst their banks.

And in some regions, although there's
water all around -- there's not a drop

have shut down, affecting as many as

140,000 in the coming days.

OQ= Lampman says the games were

organized to provide healthy sporting
competition, but they've managed to do
more than just that.

For Nancy Engleman, this event
has given her family a reason to make
their first trip to the Valley.

took a serious hit in 2006.

Miami and Florida State combined to
lose 12 times, three coaches were
fired, and no team placed higher in the
final rankings than Number 18 Wake

champion.

With the 2007 season just around
the corner, 24 of the league's players
and all 12 head coaches have converged
on Pinehurst, North Carolina for the

OQ=...NEWS 7 SPORTS << Virginia's championship city has
(END SOT) once again rolled out the red carpet

for 72 basketball teams from all over
the nation. 30 states are represented
in the event and more than 1000 players
and coaches will be shooting hoop
through next Saturday.

The host team for the event is
the Roanoke Stars - with players from
as far away as Harrisonburg.

CHAD CONNER

Being the host team hardly
warrants any preferential treatment.
The Stars had to open the tournament
against a team from Texas - that
featured a six-foot five inch 14 year
old post player.

CHAD CONNER

Those college coaches were on
hand for many of the opening games.
Tech's Beth Dunkenberger was among
those getting an eyeful of the young
talent and the exceptional speed.

Astronaut Clayton Anderson, along Video From: with a Russian cosmonaut began a
spacewalk today outside the space
station to get rid of outdated
equipment.

In this video, you can see the
equipment slowly falling away behind
the station.

It was a dress- rehearsal of sorts
for the jettison of a 14- hundred pound
ammonia tank.

And by the way, NASA says there's no
risk of the discarded "space junk"
hitting the space station.
