loose in the area, and this time, it was in a bedroom. A bat was discovered Saturday at the Greenbrier Apartments in Salem. The bat was in the bedroom where a couple and their one-month-old baby sleep. Animal Control says that in this situation, there is the possibility of rabies exposure. A human could be bitten by a bat while sleeping, and not know it. The Health Department evaluated the bat, which tested positive for rabies.
