missing boater from the New River
Valley.

The Department of Game and
Inland Fisheries says a 39 year old
male went missing around 9:30 last
night on Claytor Lake.

It is believed a wake from
another boat, hit his boat, causing him
to fall over.

Conservation officers believe
the man drowned.

Dive teams are expected to start
searching the lake within the next half
hour.

Goforth helped give the boy CPR
after he jumped in a hotel pool and
nearly drowned.

News Seven has learned he is no
longer at UVA, he has been released
from the hospital.

Oliver is one of many baseball
players in Amherst County for the Dixie
Youth World Series.

in Danville after apparently being
shot in the chest.

The crash happened a little after
10:30 last night at 229 North Avenue.

Authorities say that the crash
caused significant damage to the
foundation of the house.

There were reportedly people
inside the home at the time, but no one
was injured.

The man's gunshot wounds were
discovered after fire department
personnel responded to scene.

The driver was taken to the
hospital and placed in intensive care.

as hundreds of miners descend upon
Blacksburg this week.

They're staging situations
similar to the efforts being made to
find those trapped miners in Utah.

250 jobs.

The word came in an e-mailed
company statement yesterday afternoon.

It does not indicate how many of
those layoffs affect workers at the
company's Roanoke headquarters.

Officials say it is part of an
overall cost-cutting effort.

Advance Auto is one of the
Roanoke Valley's largest employers.
