A Pulaski jury has convicted
James Clark of rape, along with several
other charges.

Police say he raped two women in
January at an apartment in Dublin.

One woman used a wheelchair to
get around, the other was pregnant.

Prosecutor Brad Finch told the
judge that Jonathan Utin was about 30
years old, in his second year as a
school teacher when he first had sexual
contact with the eleven year old girl.

The abuse would continue, about
once a week, for more than three years.

And the prosecutor said Utin
threatened to hurt a witness who had
seen some inappropriate contact between
the two.

want to go forward with a public trial.

counts of rape. The judge sentenced him
to 40 years on each, with the sentences
running concurrently.

area. Now police have a suspect in
some of those incidents.

Christiansburg bank at gunpoint last
September got a five year prison
sentence today.

Police say 24- year- old Jason
Reid was armed with a silver hand gun
when he walked into the BB&T branch on
Pepper's Ferry Road September 13th.

The prosecutor in the case said
Reid had two tellers fill a cooler with
cash.

Reid was arrested several hours
after the robbery, and today he plead
guilty to three charges. The judge
sentenced him to serve five years and

three months in prison.

who were laid off this past winter in
Dublin will be back on the job tonight.

At the beginning of the year, 900
workers were laid off.

Back then, a volvo representative

(END SOT) Jake Phillips you might be losing a

little sleep these days, as well.

Phillips is in a battle for his
competitive collegiate life at William
and Mary this summer with Mike Potts
and receiver turned quarterback R.J.
Archer.

BITE OF JACOB

Jake took over the reins of the
high powered William and Mary offense
during his redshirt freshman year. He

immediately earned the respect of his
teammates and his coaches with his
fearless play.

During the last two seasons he
has made 10 starts and played in a
total of 17 games.

But Jake's play over that span
and the desire to alternate
quarterbacks hasn't always translated
into wins in Williamsburg.

2005 and 2006 marked the first
time in over 20 years that William &
Mary football had posted back to back
losing seasons.

Jake has changed his jersey
number from 18 to the number 11 he wore
back in high school he hopes that will
inspire him to produce some more magic
moments like the ones he produced at
Bath County.
