July 26 Two and a half weeks after Vick's
arraignment, several published reports
indicate he may be about to reach a
deal with the government.
The Falcon quarterback is said to
be in the midst of plea negotiations
with federal prosecutors.
The key figure in a criminal
investigation is rarely offered a deal
in the early going, but Vick may want
to enter a plea now rather than face
another indictment expected within the
next week.

We have breaking news out of
Martinsville.
The Martinsville-Henry County Rescue
Squad has been shut down for at least
the next 48 hours for several
violations.
According to the captain, state
inspectors came in this morning and
found several catheters - that are used
to start i-v's were experired.
They also discovered that three
of the drug boxes - that are stored
inside ambulances to hold medication -
were also out of date.
Other county rescue squads as
well as the Martinsville Fire
Department will pick up all calls until
the violations can be fixed.
The Martinsville-Henry County
Squad provides service to some 14
thousand people.

Robin Reed in the SkyTracker 7 Forecast
Center. Hotter weather is on the way.
By Wednesday and Thursday, a large
ridge will take charge, boosting
temperatures into the upper 90s to near
100. Some areas may even break records.
Friday, the ridge will retreat to the
west, dropping temperatures back to
"normal" August values. With the heat
comes partly sunny skies and limited
rain chances. In fact, there's no
decent chance of showers until late
this weekend and into next week. Even
then, isolated showers at best.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Clear and comfortable.
Low: 60 WEDNESDAY: Sunny & HOT! High:
99 Hotter weather is on the way. By

heard at the top of the newscast - the
Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper
is reporting this afternoon that
Michael Vick and his attorneys are
talking about the Falcons' quarterback
enterind a plea agreement in Federal
Court now that all of the other
co-defendants in the case are doing
just that.

VO-NAT The pending plea from Vick is
likely why the NFL is still taking a
wait and see attititude on Vick.
Simply put - there is no need to
suspend a player who will be in a
federal penitentiary.
If Vick enteres a plea and gets a
prison sentence - which he most
certainly will - then the NFL would
most likely suspend Vick when his time
it up and he attempts to return to the
league - much like they did with former
Ravens and current Browns running back
Jamal Lewis.

Phill Rizzuto has died.
Rizzuto had been in declining health
for several years and was
living at a nursing home in West
Orange, New Jersey.

Rizzuto, who was known as "The
Scooter," played for the
Yankees throughout the 1940s and '50s
and won seven World Series
titles in 13 seasons of major league
play. He went on the become a
broadcast analyst and among other
