Today, Washington DC mediator
Kenneth Feinberg announced how the
seven- point- seven million dollar
Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund will be
divided.

Victims' families have a choice:
they can take 180-thousand dollars or
divide that amount between a cash
payment and a scholarship in the
victim's name.

Some severely-injured victims are
eligible for 90-thousand dollars.
Their tuition and fees will also be
covered for the rest of their time at
Tech.

Less-severely injured victims
qualify for 40-thousand dollars, plus
tuition and fees.

Other victims, including those
who were in Norris Hall at the time,
are eligible for tuition and fees, OR
10-thousand dollars cash.

CK/TITAN TITAN RADAR ANALYSIS

<< Good evening, I'm Brent Watts in the
SkyTracker7 Forecast Center. The high
temperature today in Roanoke was 98 and
the low was 60. Locally tonight, clear
skies and light winds will lead to a
fairly comfortable night. Lows will dip

into the upper 50s and low 60s under
clear skies. The extreme heat returns
Thursday with highs nearing 100 in some
spots. The good news is, the humidity
won't be as high as last week. The
national analysis shows a large ridge
of high pressure across the middle of
our nation. The high pressure will move
east tomorrow bringing the heat with
it. Behind the hot high, a cold front
will push the hot weather away and
bring a return to more typical August
weather by the weekend. However, the
forecast calls for little shower
chances until next week. The tropics
are active, with Tropical Storm Erin
bringing rain to the Gulf of Mexico and
Tropical Storm Dean appears to be
headed toward the Caribbean Sea. Get

The spokesman for Vick's five
attorney team would not confirm that
the discussions revolved around a
possible plea agreement, but given
Vick's current state - that is a given.

ESPN also reported today there

was some disagreement within the legal
team as to whether Vick should enter a
plea ro take a chance on a trial.

Either way the clock is ticking
on the 27 year old quarterback's
future.

Council are proposing a new cultural
and entertainment district.

The plan from Sherman Lea and
Brian Wishneff would earmark a third of
a penny from the state sales tax to
help fund cultural agencies there.

And modest tax breaks would
encourage more artists to live and work

downtown.

Joe Dashiell has reaction.
